Highlights that shaped 2025

As we reflect on a truly transformative year, we are grateful for your unwavering commitment to the Channeling Hope community. Below is a snapshot of our 2025 achievements—made possible because families, researchers, and supporters across the globe deepened their collaboration to advance care and accelerate the path toward treatments for NALCN channel‑related disorders.

Raising hope to new heights in 2026

As we celebrate the success of 2025, we begin 2026 hopeful for more. More smiles, more discovery, and most of all, more hope. The Raising Hope Campaign is off to a great start: several families and scientists launched online and community event fundraisers, the October kick-off match brought in more than $12,000, and a major donor's gift lifted our first two months of campaign giving to over $233,000. If you're interested in hosting a fundraiser, please email dduggan@channelinghope.org. For those considering a major gift, please contact smartin@channelinghope.org.

Helping Hands Needed

With a solid foundation and our first full-time employee, we are building a resilient, patient-first rare disease community. Thanks to the capacity-building grant we won through Rare As One, the Channeling Hope Foundation is running effectively and efficiently. This means we have bandwidth to do even more, but we need your help to keep growing. In 2026, there will be new ways to get involved. As rare disease parents, we understand the realities of caregiving and strive to make involvement flexible and meaningful. We also invite those without a direct NALCN connection, but with nonprofit or professional experience, to join our efforts. To learn more about any of the opportunities below or share your interest, please email emily@channelinghope.org.

Join a Committee: We are searching for volunteers to join committees to help with community engagement, fundraising, and communications. Joining one of these committees will require an average commitment of 1-3 hours per month.
Join the Board of Directors: We are transitioning from a working Board into a strategic Board, with a monthly commitment ranging from 2-5 hours per month. We’re seeking individuals ready to share their time, talent, or treasure to help strengthen our mission.
Join the Community Advisory Board (CAB): We invite NALCN caregivers and patients to join our newly formed Community Advisory Board (CAB). As a CAB member, you’ll help shape our work by offering feedback on new initiatives and elevating community priorities, ensuring that the patient voice remains central in research and all activities led by Channeling Hope and our collaborators. The anticipated commitment is 3 hours per quarter.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season filled with hope, peace, and moments of light.
